About me
I'm a Conceptual Artist, Designer and sometime Art Director working mainly in games, and previously in film & television. My general focus has been environment design and world building though I have experience with most aspects of project building and team processes including characters, props, shader dev, fx, monetization, layout and pipelines.
I work in 3d, 2d, Unreal, motion graphics, zBrush, and some animation - whatever gets the idea across.
What makes me different is my extensive background in production, both reatime and film, and how this informs my work. When I work with a team I understand the process & needs, and this helps guide my choices.
Also, I've never lost a fight with a tiger.
What I do
As an Art Director my main goal is to understand the intention of the Creative Director and to decide on and communicate to the team a cohesive vision. I think its important to know the technology I'm working with and how that opens options. I understand the value of building upon choices but also strive to remain flexible and always open.
As a Concept Lead the job is to create systems that help & support the team and to guide quality & presentation standards. What the job is not is to be a second art director.
As a Concept Artist I'm told I'm fast and inventive. I strive to always be appropriate to the task, and the goal is to provide ideas & options - the art is about communicating the idea, not an end to itself.
